Hes Kardan

I'm an Australian creative professional with a background spanning IT, digital marketing, audio-visual production, sound systems, music production, DJing, podcasting and livestreaming.

Having arrived in Australia from Iran in 1987 at seven years old, I've grown up shaped by Australian culture while retaining an appreciation for my Persian heritage. My professional journey combines hands-on technical experience, business ownership and a lifelong interest in sound, creativity and how people connect.

I'm spiritual but not religious, and I value an open-minded, grounded approach to life. I believe music is one of humanity's most powerful universal languages, capable of connecting people beyond cultural, linguistic and personal differences.

Through Pure Circle Studios, I'm bringing these experiences together to create opportunities for music, technology, recording, podcasting, streaming and creative collaboration.

For me, it all comes back to frequency: the sounds we create, the energy we bring into a room and the connections we make with others. When we approach life and creativity with good intentions, openness and respect, we create better opportunities to connect and make something meaningful together.

My Story

My story in Australia began in 1987, when I arrived from Iran at seven years old. Like many families starting a new life in another country, my family experienced the challenge of adapting to a different environment, culture and way of life.

Growing up in Australia shaped me profoundly. Australian culture became part of my everyday life, influencing the way I communicate, work, build relationships and see the world. Today, Australia is home in every sense of the word. My identity and outlook are deeply Australian, while my Iranian heritage remains an important part of my personal history and creative perspective.

Growing up with these cultural influences has given me an appreciation for different backgrounds and ways of thinking. I believe people have far more in common than they sometimes realise, and that our differences can become a source of creativity, understanding and connection.

My early working life introduced me to customer service, retail and practical problem-solving. Between 1997 and 1998, I worked as a Sales Assistant at Brashs, where I developed early experience in customer interaction, product knowledge and presenting products. These foundations helped shape skills that would remain useful throughout my career: communication, patience, adaptability and the ability to work with different people.

In 2001, I began producing music, opening a creative chapter that would continue to develop alongside my professional work. Music gave me a different way to explore ideas, emotions, rhythm and sound. I became interested in how individual sounds could be layered and arranged to create an atmosphere or take a listener on a journey.

Between 2002 and 2004, I also operated my own automotive brokering business, buying, preparing and selling imported vehicles. Although this was a different industry, running an independent business taught me about managing a process from beginning to end, understanding customer expectations and taking responsibility for the final result. Those lessons would become relevant again as I developed businesses in technology and creative media.

My interest in computers and technical systems eventually became a significant part of my professional life. From 2013 to 2018, I operated Ace Computer, providing custom computer builds, technical support and IT solutions. This experience strengthened my understanding of computer hardware, troubleshooting, customer service and the practical requirements of running a small business. Alongside my Diploma of Information Technology Networking Systems, it gave me a solid foundation for understanding how technical systems work and how to make them useful to people.

Between 2017 and 2018, I worked at Anyware Corporation as a National Warranty Officer, managing warranty processes and coordinating related logistics. I then worked at Leader Computers as a Computer Technician from 2018 to 2019, troubleshooting hardware and software, supporting warranty processes and assisting customers with technical issues. These roles developed my understanding of technical support, operational systems and the importance of following a problem through to a practical solution.

From 2019 to 2020, I worked with Harris Technology in marketing and warranty support. This role brought together my technical background and an interest in communication and digital marketing. Alongside customer service and warranty responsibilities, I gained experience in marketing activities and the presentation of products and services. It reinforced the importance of being able to understand a product technically while also communicating its value clearly to an audience.

Alongside this professional journey, music production remained an important part of my life. From 2020 onwards, I began developing my work as a DJ, adding another dimension to my relationship with music. Producing a track involves building a piece of music from the inside out, while DJing involves understanding how tracks connect, how a set develops and how sound can guide an audience through a musical journey.

My musical interests span melodic house, deep house, progressive house, Afro house, ambient and hypnotic techno. I enjoy exploring the relationships between rhythm, atmosphere, texture and movement, whether I'm producing an original track or preparing a DJ set.

In 2021, my involvement with Sun & Moons Media added another dimension to my creative and technical work, including digital content creation, podcasting, livestreaming and media production. These areas bring together many of the skills I've developed over the years: working with recording equipment, managing audio and video, configuring systems and preparing content for digital platforms.

My interests also extend into audio-visual production and event technology, including experience associated with Staging Connections and Pro Lighting Sound. I've maintained a practical interest in professional sound equipment, speaker systems, amplification, lighting, DJ equipment and the integration of audio and visual components. I enjoy understanding how systems are assembled, how signals move through equipment and how the different components can work together to support a performance or recording.

This technical side of creativity is particularly important to me. Whether producing music, recording a podcast, preparing a DJ performance or setting up a livestream, the final result depends on both the creative idea and the technology supporting it.

In 2023, my work increasingly brought together IT and audiovisual solutions, including custom computer systems, troubleshooting, recording setups, podcast equipment and livestreaming environments. My approach has always been hands-on: understand the objective, identify the right equipment, solve the technical challenges and create a system that works reliably.

From 2024 onwards, I also developed Naturally Unplugged, a podcast and community-focused media project exploring digital balance and the value of connecting with the world beyond our screens. The project reflects an important part of my outlook: technology is powerful, but its value depends on how we use it. Digital platforms can help us communicate and build communities, while time outdoors and face-to-face experiences can help us reconnect with the people and environment around us.

My broader creative work includes projects such as Pop Up DJs and The First Seeds podcast, alongside my music and independent media initiatives. These projects reflect my ongoing interest in how people share stories, develop creative ideas and connect through sound and digital content.

Today, as Hes Kardan, I continue to develop my identity as an electronic music producer and DJ. Ableton Live is central to my production workflow, allowing me to build arrangements, develop sounds, layer instruments and textures, and experiment with different ways of bringing musical ideas together.

My Persian heritage also influences my creative direction, particularly my appreciation for traditional instruments and organic sounds alongside contemporary electronic production. I'm drawn to music that creates a sense of space, movement and depth, whether that means atmospheric ambient music, melodic house or more hypnotic, rhythm-focused electronic sounds.

For me, music is an ongoing learning process. Each project offers another opportunity to explore a sound, refine an arrangement and discover something that wasn't there at the beginning.

There is also a more personal philosophy behind my work. I'm a spiritual person, but I'm not religious. I don't identify with a religious institution or follow a particular religious doctrine. My outlook is grounded in personal reflection, curiosity, respect for others and an appreciation for the world around me.

One concept that has followed me through music and creative work is frequency. In sound, frequency is a measurable physical property that helps determine how we perceive pitch and tone. In music, frequencies combine to create rhythm, texture, tension, harmony and atmosphere.

But frequency also has a personal meaning for me. We all contribute something to the environments we enter: our attitude, our intentions, the way we communicate and the way we make other people feel. When I talk about good frequencies attracting good frequencies, I mean it as a philosophy of positive interaction. Approaching people and creative work with respect, openness and good intentions can help create an atmosphere where others feel comfortable contributing and connecting.

Music gives us a remarkable way to experience this connection. People can come from different countries, speak different languages and hold completely different beliefs, yet still share a moment through a piece of music. I see music as a universal language that can communicate emotion, create shared experiences and bring people together without requiring them to agree on everything else.

This is the philosophy I want to carry into Pure Circle Studios.

Pure Circle Studios brings together my experience in technology, audio-visual systems, music production, DJing, podcasting and digital media in one creative environment. The vision is to create opportunities for people to record, perform, experiment, develop their skills and share their ideas.

That includes DJ sessions, music production, podcast recording, livestreaming, audiovisual projects and flexible creative setups that can extend into mobile and outdoor environments.

I'm interested in making these experiences approachable, practical and welcoming to people with different backgrounds, interests and levels of experience. You don't have to be an established artist or a technical expert to have an idea worth exploring.

My journey has moved through different industries, businesses and creative projects, but a common thread has remained: understanding how things work, experimenting with possibilities and finding ways to bring ideas to life.

For me, Pure Circle Studios is the next chapter in that journey — connecting music, technology, creativity and people through sound and shared experiences.
